Saddle Creek Breakfast Club reopens Friday after monthlong closure

{{featured_button_text}}

After being closed for about a month, the Saddle Creek Breakfast Club is reopening on Friday.

The restaurant ceased operations early in February when chef and co-owner Chase Thomsen entered treatment for addiction and mental health issues.

After that, friends created a GoFundMe account to help employees who were sidelined. It had raised nearly $24,000 of a $30,000 goal as of Wednesday.

Saddle Creek Breakfast Club serves breakfast and lunch, focusing on local ingredients. It quickly caught on with Omahans after opening in late 2017, with long lines snaking out of its tiny location at 1540 N. Saddle Creek Road.

The restaurant is open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, and doesn’t take reservations.
