An Omaha author’s cookbook has made the short list for the Gourmand International World Cookbook Awards.

Summer Miller Widhalm’s “New Prairie Kitchen” got the nod in the local category; other books in the category feature the regional cuisines of Tibet, the Philippines and other local world cuisines.
