The World-Herald proudly presents the Hometown Heroes Awards

To a public that depends on the often unnoticed men and women who work to provide for our most fundamental needs, essential workers like those in healthcare, on the frontline of service industries and education have emerged as some of the most important members of our society.

Now, perhaps for than at any other time in recent history, these men and women deserve to be recognized for their selfless contributions.

The Omaha World-Herald is proud to honor these unsung heroes in a three-part series of virtual awards presentations available to the public on Omaha.com. The categories are healthcare, frontline workers and education.

We need your help to give back to those who give their all.

Do you know someone in healthcare who’s made a difference, positively impacted a healthcare facility, or always goes the extra mile? The World-Herald Hometown Hero Awards in Healthcare will celebrate these individuals who have gone above and beyond their call of duty.

The World-Herald is seeking nominations for individuals from all healthcare settings — hospitals, home healthcare, health centers and clinics, schools, health departments, long-term care, emergency services, medical practices, etc. Our expert panel of judges from area businesses, healthcare facilities, and our editorial staff will assess each nominee, and then four Healthcare Heroes will be profiled in a special section of the World-Herald in December with a live awards show on Thursday, December 10, 2020 . There will also be a Reader’s Choice Award!
