A 10-year-old Omaha boy who collapsed and died last week did not have the flu, authorities said Wednesday.
Sydney Kola, a student at King Science and Technology Magnet Center, died Jan. 11.
He had complained of flu-like symptoms, including vomiting, diarrhea and fatigue.
An autopsy last Saturday was inconclusive, but influenza has been ruled out, said Chief Deputy Marty Bilek of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities do not suspect foul play in Sydney's death.
Bilek said further lab tests are being conducted, but the results likely won't come for a few weeks.
