The sixth annual Omaha Health Expo is this weekend at the CenturyLink Center. More than 350 fitness, nutrition, beauty, mental health and general wellness exhibitors will have booths inside the arena, giving attendees the opportunity to connect with local health experts.
“It’s really about education,” said event director Bob Mancuso Jr. “With so many vendors there ... there’s so much to learn.”
He hopes people incorporate what they learn into their daily lives. More than 10,000 people attended last year’s expo, and he expects similar numbers this weekend.
There will be several seminars – some specifically centered on senior living – sports clinics and guest speakers at the two-day event. Speaker include former Nebraska football player Calvin Jones and Marty Wolff, owner of Square One Health Club in Omaha and a former contestant on NBC’s reality show The Biggest Loser.
The expo will also host four fitness events. The Walk for Alzheimer’s is 10 a.m. on Saturday. There is also a 5K run on Sunday or a bike ride with 9-, 15- and 43-mile route options.
In addition, the expo is debuting the Omaha Biathlon, a 15-mile bike ride followed by a 5K run. Though admission to the expo is free, the fitness events are not.
