COUNCIL BLUFFS — Police continue to search for a man accused of robbing the Walgreens pharmacy at 2508 West Broadway in Council Bluffs.
Around 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, a white male wearing a brown coat, gloves and a mask partially covering his face walked to the pharmacy counter and handed a worker a note allegedly demanding pain medicine, according to Sgt. David Dawson with the Council Bluffs Police Department. Dawson said the suspect gestured to his coat, indicating that he was armed, but did not display a weapon.
The suspect left with two bottles of generic Vicodin, valued at $750.
After the robbery, Council Bluffs Police officers located the suspect, driving a gray 1999 Kia Sephia, Iowa license plate BSL100, traveling westbound on Avenue A. Officers tried to pull the vehicle over, but the driver fled, Dawson said.
