Creighton University will soon offer an exchange program with a Jesuit university in Belgium, giving students a new destination to study abroad.

Officials will sign a cooperative agreement with Namur University in Namur, Belgium, Friday. The agreement allows Creighton students to study in Namur, and vice versa.

Creighton has cooperative agreements with two foreign Jesuit universities: Sogang University in Seoul, South Korea, and Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan.

This will be the first formal agreement with a university in Europe.

Namur University is one of the few remaining Jesuit universities in Europe. It is similar in size and scope to Creighton. It has schools and colleges in arts, informatics, sciences, business, law and medicine.

It is one of only 10 Jesuit universities worldwide with a medical school.
