A man’s body was recovered Thursday morning from the Missouri River northeast of Blair.
A group of people noticed the body near the Cottonwood Cove Marina and called the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies then brought it to shore with help from the Blair Fire Department, Sheriff Mike Robinson said.
The identity won’t be known until an autopsy is completed Friday, the sheriff said. He said the body may have been in the river for at least a week.
Deputies are checking with other local law enforcement agencies to see if the body may be connected to someone who went missing recently. Officials don’t know the cause of death or whether foul play was a factor.
