A northwest Omaha elementary school was locked down for part of Thursday morning while police searched for a man in connection with a domestic-violence case.
Prairie Wind Elementary School, which is just northwest of 108th and Fort Streets, was placed on alert after police told school administrators they were searching for a man.
An Omaha Public Schools spokeswoman said she didn’t know what time the school was alerted but said the incident had ended by about 10:45 a.m.
The domestic-violence call came from a location southwest of the school, police said. Officers reported to an address near 108th and Fort where the man may have been spotted. Officers did not find the man, but a neighborhood resident said he thought he had seen the man not long before officers arrived.
Officers then notified the school of the situation, police said.
