Two people were arrested Thursday night in South Omaha in connection with a gun and drugs case.

Police said gang prevention officers were on patrol around 6 p.m. when they spotted a stolen vehicle parked on the northwest corner of 24th and G Streets. Two people were sitting inside the vehicle.

Police said the officers arrested the driver and the passenger without incident. They recovered a handgun and methamphetamine.

A 31-year-old man was booked on suspicion of receiving a stolen item, possession of meth, carrying a concealed weapon, having an unregistered gun and transporting and possessing a gun.

A 30-year-old woman was booked on suspicion of unlawful occupancy and having an open liquor container. — Jay Withrow
