Fire destroys Oakland, Iowa, home

Nobody was injured but a home was destroyed early Wednesday in a house fire in Oakland, Iowa.

The blaze was reported to Pottawattamie County authorities about 12:20 a.m.

The home that was destroyed was situated in town, officials said, and nobody was in the house at the time of the fire.

Later, about 6:30 a.m., Oakland firefighters were called back to the scene when the fire restarted in the destroyed home at 208 Oak St.
