DES MOINES — People in the Des Moines area have been offered unlimited free bus rides for the next six days.
The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority said people can ride free as part of Try Transit Week, which began Sunday and continues through Saturday.
Officials said the promotion aims to highlight the transit system's access in the Des Moines area. Marketing Director Kirstin Baer-Harding said the transit system wants to get more people riding.
The offer is good on DART Local, Express, Flex and On Call services.
