ATLANTIC, Iowa – An Atlantic man faces charges after authorities arrested him on suspicion of growing psychedelic mushrooms.

Joshua Allen, 34, was arrested after the Atlantic Police Department and Cass County Sheriff’s Office served a warrant at an Atlantic residence. Authorities discovered an active psilocybin mushroom grow at the house, according to Atlantic police.

Mullen faces charges of manufacturing a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, a felony. The charge carries a maximum 10-year prison sentence.

An investigation continues.
