DES MOINES — The Iowa Supreme Court will hear arguments in two cases in Fort Dodge in October.
The court said it will convene in the auditorium at Fort Dodge Middle School at 7 p.m. Oct. 9.
One case involves a court challenge filed by the Iowa Farm Bureau against the Iowa Environmental Protection Commission. The Farm Bureau claims that two of the commissioners improperly voted on a regulation.
The second case involves a juvenile who was charged at age 14 with second-degree sexual abuse. The state wants to continue to hold him as a sexually violent predator under a civil commitment process. Anthony Geltz is challenging the state’s civil commitment procedure.
