Two Utah men were taken by helicopter to an Omaha hospital Saturday after being injured in a collision between a semitrailer truck and a pickup on Interstate 80 northeast of Atlantic, Iowa.

Bruce White, 69, of Ogden, and his passenger, J. Max Robinson, 57, of Plain City, were flown to the Nebraska Medical Center shortly after 11 p.m. A hospital spokesman said Sunday that both men were in fair condition.

Investigators from the Iowa State Patrol said White was eastbound in a FedEx semi when the vehicle went out of control, crossed the median and went into the north ditch. A westbound 2007 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Jakob Quibell, 20, of Dansville, New York, sustained minor damage from debris caused by the semi traveling through the median.

Quibell was not injured. The accident is under investigation.
