High school students who just completed their junior years can experience what it takes to become a law enforcement officer during this month’s annual American Legion Junior Law Cadet program, the Nebraska State Patrol said.
Thirty-seven female cadets will spend next week and 40 male cadets will spend the following week attending the Junior Law program at the Nebraska State Patrol Training Academy in Grand Island.
The cadets will receive hands-on experience that will include defensive tactics, vehicle operations and patrolling, firearms, and fingerprinting, the patrol said.
American Legion Posts from across the state nominated the cadets, who were then selected to participate.
