Millard West teacher to run for Nebraska Legislature — in two years

Only $5 for 5 months

LINCOLN — An Omaha-area teacher has jumped into the 2020 race for Nebraska Legislature, even before the newly elected state senators have taken office.

Tim Royers, a social studies teacher and debate coach at Millard West High School, announced Wednesday that he will run for west Omaha’s District 31 seat.

The seat is now held by State Sen. Rick Kolowski of Omaha, a former Millard West principal. Kolowski is term-limited and cannot run again in 2020.
