A woman who was shot Thursday evening at Standing Bear Lake suffered wounds that are not considered life-threatening, Omaha police said Friday.

Just before 6:45 p.m., officers responded to the lake near 132nd and Fort Streets to investigate a shooting. They found 33-year-old Shantel Thompson, who had a gunshot wound to her side. She was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center for treatment.

Officers searched the area and took a 33-year-old man into custody.
