Elkhorn elementary school classroom closed because of COVID

Nebraska had the nation's fifth-highest percentage increase in COVID cases last week, part of a surge of infections occurring in the upper Great Plains.

A third-grade classroom at Skyline Elementary School in the Elkhorn Public Schools will be closed for the rest of this week because of COVID-19.

In an email to families, the school said the classroom will be closed from Tuesday through Friday after three COVID-19 cases were reported. The students will learn remotely for the rest of the week.

All other students at Skyline, at 400 S. 210th St., will continue to learn in person.
