Westside School District upgraded their air filters from MERV 7 to MERV 13 grade, which block about 50% of small airborne particles carrying viruses. They are also purchasing and installing air purifiers in their classrooms. These are likely HEPA-grade. If you combine this with mandatory masks and other sensible measures -- temperature checks perhaps -- I'm confident we can reopen schools safely.
Bars or the rest of the economy, our choice.
"Khan noted that the 25 to 50 threshold is still four to seven times the reopening threshold of many European countries, which opened schools at rates of about 7 to 8 cases per million per day." Hmmm...our kids, parents and communities deserve to follow "best practice" safeguards in our schools.
