Today looks to be mostly sunny in the Omaha area, forecasters said, with a high temperature near 78 and southeast wind gusts around 25 mph.
By tonight, the Omaha area can expect a low around 65 and a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 a.m.
The National Weather Service office in Valley, Nebraska, said there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight through Friday in the Omaha area, including 60 percent chances Wednesday through Thursday night.
The weather service said it appears unlikely that any widespread severe storms will occur. However, forecasters said, the potential for periods of locally heavy rainfall is high, mainly Thursday night.
High temperatures Wednesday through Friday in the Omaha area should be in the mid-70s to around 80, and overnight lows are expected to be around 65.
