A fiery, rush-hour collision on Interstate 80 in Sarpy County on Thursday left one person hospitalized and westbound I-80 backed up for several miles.
The two-car collision remained under investigation Thursday night. Details on its cause were unavailable. But it occurred about 5:45 p.m. near the Nebraska Highway 50 interchange, said Sgt. Keith Bell of the Nebraska State Patrol. One of the cars caught fire.
A woman, whose name was unavailable, was taken to Midlands Hospital in Papillion for treatment, Bell said. The collision was cleaned up in about 50 minutes.
