Man rescued in South O fire treated for smoke inhalation
A man was taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation after a Monday afternoon fire in South Omaha.
Firefighters were called to a home that formerly housed a business near 27th and Q Streets just before 1:15 p.m. A man who had been inside the building was outside when firefighters arrived. He was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center, said Battalion Chief Keith Main of the Omaha Fire Department.
Two other occupants were helped out of the home by firefighters and refused medical treatment, Main said.
The fire was extinguished in about 5 minutes. The cause of the fire was still being investigated Monday afternoon.
