Homestead Monument to host 'musical smorgasbord'

BEATRICE, Neb. (AP) — The Homestead National Monument of America is finishing this year's campfire program series with a musical presentation.

The event will take place on Saturday at 7 p.m. Musician Chris Sayre will present "Nebraska's Musical Smorgasbord," with traditional folk music from Europe and North America. Sayre is self-taught on more than a dozen instruments, and has received several awards for his performances.

The monument is a unit of the National Park Service, situated four miles west of Beatrice. The monument is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission is free.
