LINCOLN — The Nebraska Supreme Court on Friday disbarred Omaha attorney Patricia F. Geringer for misappropriating trust funds of clients and falsifying documents.

Geringer began practicing law in 1983, and she operated a solo practice at 2421 O St.

The Supreme Court’s Counsel for Discipline filed formal charges against Geringer in September. After initially contesting the charges, Geringer voluntarily surrendered her license to practice law in January.

Geringer misappropriated $281 a client gave her to pay a bankruptcy filing fee, according to court documents. When the Counsel for Discipline inquired about the fee, Geringer created false letters that purported to show communication with the client that had not occurred.

A message left at Geringer’s office Friday was not returned.
