Two Nebraskans, a 22-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man, were killed Friday afternoon in a head-on collision near Hartington in the northeast part of the state.

Mollie Schieffer of Fordyce and Bradley Schumacher of rural Crofton were pronounced dead at the scene about 3:15 p.m., according to the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said Schieffer was eastbound on Highway 12 about three miles west of the intersection with Highway 57 when she crossed the center line. Her vehicle collided with Schumacher’s westbound Chevrolet Silverado truck, the Sheriff’s Office said.
