One man died and another was injured in an accident late Friday in Madison County west of Norfolk.

At about 11:20 p.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a personal injury accident on Highway 275 and 545th Avenue.

An eastbound pickup driven by Ryan Tripp, 29, of Tilden crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound pickup driven by Wyatt Andersen, 19, of Ashland.

Both drivers were extracted by Battle Creek Fire and Rescue.

Andersen was pronounced dead at the scene and Tripp was transported to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the contributing factors to the crash. Battle Creek Fire and Rescue and the Nebraska State Patrol also assisted with the investigation.
