Rhoades, Lillian M. February 7, 1935 - May 24, 2020 Lillian was born on February 7, 1935 in Duncan, NE to the late Stephen Mostek and Celia (Dubas) Mostek. Lillian married Gary Rhoades on January 16, 1954. Together they raised four children as long time La Vista, NE residents. Lillian was a gifted seamstress and operated a sewing business from her home. She did alterations, sewed toys and wedding dresses, and sewed a few outfits for a New York based runway modeling agency. She also sewed clothing for herself and many family members. Lillian was well known for the many beautiful quilts she made. She enjoyed sewing with her quilt groups and learning and teaching new techniques, using a different pattern with each new quilt. Lillian was an active member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in LaVista. She volunteered by sewing banners, altar cloths, and baptismal cloths as well as being a long time member of the Martha Circle Funeral Lunch Ministry. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary; and son, Richard "Rick" Rhoades. Visek, Teri Lu June 6, 1956 - April 27, 2020 Family and friends mourn the loss of Teri Lu Visek of Omaha, who passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020, just short of the one-year anniversary of her knockout win over cancer. Teri was born in Omaha on June 6, 1956 to Hazel and Larry Brennan. She was the second of five children, known to all by her spectacular red hair, her irreverent sense of humor, and her passion for Nursing. Teri earned her Degree in Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse for many years in various hospitals and in home health care. Teri was a natural caregivercompassionate, loving, and talented. She found joy and love in her family and in caring for others. Teri loved ballet and visiting beautiful places, was quick with a joke and a laugh, enjoyed reminiscing about family and good times, and was known for wearing clothes and jewelry that always included that extra 'sparkle'. She was singularly devoted to her grandson, Ryan. And while she never held her newest grandson, Jase, born in January in Oklahoma, she adored him. Teri was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Teri is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Gary Visek; son, Brandon Visek (Jennifer); grandsons, Ryan Visek and Jase Visek; sisters, Carol Brennan and Susan Hayman (Randy); brother, Bob Brennan (Sharie); and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Wiater, Arthur A. July 9, 1929 - May 23, 2020 Arthur A. Wiater, age 90, of Lincoln NE, passed into Eternal Life on May 23, 2020. Mr. Wiater was born on July 9, 1929 to Frank and Julia (Bonk) Wiater in Columbus, NE. Arthur worked as an Internal Auditor for the General Accounting Office and the Federal Highway Administration. Prior he served in the Army-Air Force during WWII. During his free time he was a master of all trades; he was an electrician, plumber, car mechanic for five cars while his daughters were in school, he volunteered his mechanical skill to work on the Parish School's buses, he took community college classes to learn TV repair and underground sprinkler installation, he even built his own tractor for hauling and snow removal. He was smart having graduated from High School at 16 to learning computers and the Internet in his 80's. Most of all he was first and always a loving, supportive husband and father. Survived by his wife, Norma; daughters, Linda Wiater, Cathy (Barry) Fluckey, and Karen (Bill) Edwards; sister, Agnes Strenger; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Ron was born on June 9, 1946, in Missouri Valley, IA to James and Edna Withem. He married Patricia Diane (Weinstein) Withem on December 29, 1973. Many will remember Ron as a dedicated public servant, a caring teacher, a visionary politician, and a tireless advocate for Public Education. Wren, Dr. Wallace "Bruce" August 1, 1934 - May 20, 2020 Dr. Wallace "Bruce" Wren, age 85, of Lenexa, KS was born on August 1, 1934 in Emporia, KS to Ethel and Wallace Wren. He passed away on May 20, 2020. He grew up in Kansas City, KS and on the family farm in Ottawa, KS. Inspired by his dairy veterinarian uncle, he graduated with a DVM from Kansas State University in 1958 and later obtained a Master's and PhD in Veterinary Pathology. In 1958 he entered the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps at Ft. Jackson, SC (1958-60). Wren worked in a veterinary practice as well as later working in diagnostic labs, working as a Technical Services Veterinarian (livestock) for several animal health companies, and upon retirement continued to consult in the Veterinary industry. He was both a member and a leader in numerous Veterinary associations, and has been recognized with many awards. He served as a mentor for many. Four months prior to his passing, Bruce was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Fran. Chambers, David L. May 5, 1926 - May 26, 2020 David L Chambers, age 94, of Lincoln, NE died on May 26, 2020. David was born May 5, 1926 to David and Ethel (Johnson) Chambers near Pender, NE. After graduation from Thurston High School, he married Katheryn Lewin in 1946. They farmed and had three sons, Kenneth, Jim and Patrick. While farming, Dave became a professional square dance caller and built a square dance hall known as the Tin Roof. After farming for 10 years, he obtained Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education from Wayne State College. David taught English at Wayne High School and then decided to pursue a Law Degree. He graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1970 and became the Assistant Director at the League of Nebraska Municipalities. In 1974, he was named the Executive Director of the League where he served until his retirement in 1991. During his tenure, he transformed the League into one of the most effective organizations in the state. With the help of family and friends, he built the Boss Hog's Party Barn on West Adams in Lincoln, hosting many memorable events. David was an avid private pilot and instilled his love of flying in his three sons, daughter-in-law, and grandson, who also became pilots. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Kenneth and Patrick. Dang, Helen Sinh T. Age 79 Helen Sinh Dang died peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 25, 2020. She was born in Hanoi, Vietnam on February 14, 1941 and came to the United States as a refugee. She lived in Omaha and Seal Beach, CA. Helen Sinh leaves behind her loving husband of 55 years, Michel C. Tran; five adoring children, Mary Helen, Patrick, Serge, Mary Ann, and Sonya; and eight grandchildren who brought her constant joy. Helen Sinh selflessly devoted her life to her family, friends and career as a Pediatrician, professor, and an advocate for abused children. Her office was full of pictures of her young patients who loved her and whom she loved. Her students awarded Dr. Sinh the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching at Creighton University School of Medicine. Dr. Sinh's lifetime advocacy on behalf of abused children was heroic and she was awarded the Kids First Award by Project Harmony. She was also deeply religious and truly believed her faith helped guide her throughout her extraordinary and full life. Above all else, she made her family her first priority. Foltz, Roger Ernest Age 69, died on May 23, 2020 in Santa Fe, NM. Born June 10, 1950 in Wichita, KS, Roger held a PhD in Music Theory from the University of Texas and, after teaching at Temple University and the University of Minnesota, came to the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He taught music theory, served as Department Chair, and was Assistant Dean of the College of Fine Arts at UNO. In 2012 Roger was awarded a Fellowship at the annual meeting of Music Teachers National Association. Roger loved travel dearly and served as the Travel Coordinator for his College where he coordinated over 50 international exchanges. He retired to Santa Fe in 2014. He is survived by his partner of 36 years, Ken Bales, his brother Bruce and his wife Mary Kay, his niece Emilie and her husband and their son.

Knake, Kevin Kent December 23, 1962 - May 27, 2020 Age 57 of Hastings, NE. Passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at his home in Hastings with his wife, Chris by his side after a courageous battle of glioblastoma. Kevin Knake was born in Omaha to Willis Dean and Sharon Kay (Dodson) Knake. He grew up Nehawka, NE and attended Conestoga High School where he was active in FFA, Boy Scouts, and was a member of the Athletic Letter man's club. After graduating High School, he attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where he received his Bachelor's Degree and his Juris Doctorate Degree. After graduating, he was a Deputy Platte County Attorney. He then worked as a Deputy Public Defender in Hall County. After leaving Hall County, Kevin worked for several law offices in Hastings before opening his own law firm in January of 2018. Kevin practiced law for 30 years. Kevin was a member: Nebraska Bar Association, National College for DUI Defense Inc, and Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys, Noon Lions Club, Leadership Hastings, and Grand Island Saddle Club. On April 9, 1994, Kevin was united in marriage to Christine Kuta at St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Columbus. As part of Kevin's wishes, he received the Holy Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation on June 19, 2019. Kevin loved Celebrating St Patrick's Day, he loved Nebraska, especially time at Lake Erickson, and reading history books. He also enjoyed hanging out and attending nieces and nephew's sporting activities, mock trials, dance recitals and chess tournaments. Kevin enjoyed trips to museums, and the annual Las Vegas trip and trip to Disney World with wife, Chris. He is survived by his wife, Christine Louise Knake of Hastings; father, Willis Dean Knake of Nehawka; brother, Michael Willis Knake of Nehawka; in-laws: Louis and Rose Kuta of Columbus, NE; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bob (Becky) Kuta, Patrick Kuta (fianc�e, Rhonda), and Tim (Barb) Cave of Columbus; 7 nieces and nephews; and 9 great-nieces and nephews. Dietze, Robert James "Bob" Age 88. Passed away at his home in Gretna, NE on May 26, 2020. Bob was born in Ashland, NE on October 24, 1931 to Fred and Gladys Dietze and was 1 of 5 children. He graduated from Gretna High School in 1949 where he excelled in basketball and baseball. In 1952 he married Darlene Hansen at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Gretna. He was drafted into the Army in July of 1952 and stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO and Darmstadt, Germany. He was discharged in 1954 and returned to Gretna where he and Darlene raised their 4 children, farmed and raised livestock until he retired in 1999. Bob enjoyed camping, fishing, square dancing and horseshoes. He was an avid card player and enjoyed cribbage and bridge. His pride and joy were his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife Darlene; son Alan (Ann) Dietze; daughter Susan Clegg; son David Dietze (Darcy Iske) all of Gretna; son Bill (Cathy) Dietze of Reston, VA; sister Delores (Willard) Bishop and brother-in-law Harold Hansen, of Gretna. His legacy includes 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
