Lifelong Democrat has been voting for Republicans since 1980.

Wingnuts think religious freedom is being able to impose your religion on others who don't share it.
Agree about an exaggerated concern for religious freedom. However the particular column Mary Ruth Stegman is referring to was written by Rev. Gary Eller of the Gethsemane Presbyterian Church in Council Bluffs, not Deacon Tim McNeil of Omaha. Looks like the WH would have someone checking to be sure the author of an article which was referenced in public pulse was correctly attributed.
"The Chinese were watching something they had never seen before — the out-of-control antics of an incoherent American president, a man clearly desperate to stay in office because losing could mean his prosecution, humiliation and liquidation all at the same time ... who can blame the Chinese for gloating? A pandemic that ... has been contained in China is still rampaging through America’s economy and citizenry — even though we saw the whole thing coming....
Covid-19 was supposed to be China’s Chernobyl. It’s ended up looking more like [our] Waterloo. ...America has suffered 65.74 Covid deaths per 100,000 people, or about 216,000 total. ...early this month, days after Trump’s White House became a super-spreader site, and millions of Americans were afraid to send their kids to school, China, with close to zero local transmissions, saw millions of its citizens flocking to bus stations, train stations and airports to travel all across their country for a national holiday ...
America always triumphed because, while we’re usually unprepared for war and start slowly, we always climb the learning curve fast and come together for the long haul ....Until now. This time we never pulled together to rise to the Covid challenge...
It’s not because democracies are incapable of governing in a pandemic — South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, New Zealand have done much better than us. ...But what is most different is that we now have a president whose political strategy for re-election is to divide us, to destroy trust — and to destroy truth — and to declare any news hostile to his goals as 'fake.' And without truth and trust in a pandemic, you’re lost....
What ails us today is something that cannot be cured by a Covid-19 vaccine. We have lost the trust in each other and in our institutions and a basic sense of what is true — all necessary to navigate a health crisis together. We had them in previous wars, but not today’s."... Biden’s victory will not be *sufficient* to make America healthy again — politically or physically — but it is *necessary*... " -Tom Friedman, NYT 10/13 **Being a male is a necessary condition for being a brother, but it is not sufficient (must also be a sibling). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necessity_and_sufficiency
So Biden's win will be necessary but not sufficient, it will be just the first step in rebuilding in the ruins, which may take decades. For example, what will it take for Americans to re-learn how to distinguish real news, to be trusted, from blatant lies, to be rejected? E.g., 4chan, lulz https://www.nybooks.com/articles/2020/03/26/trolls-4chan-gamergate-lulz/\ and "Fox News Has Successfully Undermined Its Viewers’ Trust in Mail Voting, According to New Poll" https://www.mediaite.com/opinion/fox-news-has-successfully-undermined-its-viewers-trust-in-mail-voting-according-to-new-poll/
Biden was never in it Jim. Prepare yourself and remember I told you this.
I'll assume "in it" refers to winning the election? You bet I'll remember it.
Grow up Jim, you know exactly what I'm preparing you for.
You phrase your message ambiguously (still not sure what the antecedent of "it" is) but I'm the one being asked to "grow up"? As in lower myself to your 6th grade English Composition class standards?
I am so sick of hearing about Biden and possible court packing. What the heck was McConnell doing the last four years? He purposely held up seats during the Obama administration and he with other Republicans including Cruz and Grassley suggested that they would keep the Supreme Court at eight if Clinton won. So take your crocodile tears somewhere else.
There will be no need for court packing. Impeachment by House majority vote will be sufficient.
Maybe this will give the RWNJ's another bone to chase and gnaw on.
Please keep it clean, turn off CAPS LOCK and don't threaten
