10th-ranked Skutt held off a late run by the No. 6 Dragons to take the 66-63 victory.

Highlights: The Dragons trailed 38-28 at halftime and by seven points entering the fourth quarter. Gretna used an 11-2 spurt to start the fourth to take a 53-51 lead on a Madison Meadows 3-pointer.

The two teams traded baskets to make it 60-58 with Gretna still leading, but Skutt scored the next 6 points to take control of the game. Lauren Leapley drained a 3 with 18 seconds left to cut the SkyHawk lead to 64-63. After a pair of Skutt free throws, Meadows had a shot to tie the game with a well-contested 3 at the buzzer but it sailed wide.

Top performers: Meadows netted 20 points to lead the Dragons with Leapley adding 13. Faith Ross scored 11, all in the second half.

From the coach: "I thought we got really aggressive in the second half and Meadows set the tone for us. We should've done a few things different after taking the lead. They were getting easy shots and we were fighting like dogs to get ours."

- Gretna coach Jerome Skrdla
