Former President Donald Trump has endorsed Falls City businessman Charles Herbster as the Republican nominee for Nebraska governor.
The only expenses incurred by Nebraska would be travel expenses related to the security detail. The governor is paying personally for his travel.
Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts is among the Republican governors who are traveling to Texas Wednesday to tour the border with Mexico, according to the Associated Press.
Charles Herbster said he asked Lewandowski, who served as Donald Trump's first campaign manager in 2016, to "step back" from his role with Herbster's campaign for Nebraska governor.
EZ Politix, in its lawsuit, said it was hired by the Herbster for Nebraska committee to perform "campaign-related services" from December 2020 until May 10, 2022, and was to be paid $12,500 a month.
The former Nebraska governor, who holds the record for being the state’s longest serving chief executive, has been a key topic of discussion within the state’s political circles recently as questions arise over whether he plans to make a comeback bid.
