19-year-old Garrett Bragg of Murdock, Nebraska, was sentenced Friday in Sarpy County in a crash that killed the 58-year-old driver of a concrete truck.
If the concrete truck driver who was killed in the crash had not taken evasive action, a deputy Sarpy County attorney said, the driver of the other vehicle would have been killed.
Kenisha Prentice, 25, will serve a term ranging from about six years to about 13 years. It was her second drunken driving conviction. The family of one of the victims said the sentence was too light.
Judge George Thompson found Abram Sollman, 47, guilty of causing the death of Cassandra Clausen, 71, in a crash on Feb. 1, 2019. Sollman’s blood-alcohol content was .197, said Michael Mills, the deputy Sarpy County attorney who tried the case.
Members of Abby Whitford’s family wept Friday as a prosecutor described the events that led to the 10-year-old girl’s death last summer.
Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 24. Abram Sollman faces a maximum of 20 years' imprisonment.
