DES MOINES — Irving Falu had four hits, including a home run, but Iowa outlasted Omaha 4-3 Monday night.

Falu hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to give Omaha a 3-2 edge, but the Storm Chasers couldn’t hold on.

After the Cubs (40-44) took a two-run lead in the first on Mark Zagunis’ homer, Omaha answered in the next inning.

Parker Morin’s RBI groundout in the second brought home Falu to make it 2-1 before solo home runs from Hunter Dozier in the third and Falu in the fourth gave the Chasers the lead.

But Iowa regained the lead for good in the fifth as Dan Vogelbach and Matt Murton made the score 4-3 with back-to-back RBI hits.

Christian Binford (1-7) took the loss, allowing four runs on nine hits and four walks through six innings.

Former Chaser Aaron Brooks started for the Cubs, throwing 3-1⁄3 innings and allowing three runs on six hits.

He gave way to Starling Peralta (1-2), who earned the win by throwing 3-2⁄3 scoreless innings in relief.
