Tunnel Walk

Nebraska coach Scott Frost wore a t-shirt with the message "One state. One heartbeat" during the spring game.

LINCOLN — "One state. One heartbeat."

That was the message in Nebraska's Tunnel Walk video prior to the spring football game.

The video featured first responders and flood victims, along with NU coach Scott Frost and various Husker players, including linebacker Mohamed Barry, quarterback Adrian Martinez and defensive end Ben Stille — an Ashland, Nebraska, native.

NU also honored first responders Saturday. More than 250 people who helped during recent flooding in Nebraska and southwest Iowa took the Tunnel Walk, then formed a tunnel for Huskers to run through.

Cash donations for flood relief were also collected at Memorial Stadium. NU announced $162,200 was donated, including $23,575 at Pinnacle Bank Arena during the Husker basketball team’s NIT game.
