Husker fans may have taken a liking to the New York Giants defense this season, with former Nebraska players Zack Bowman and Prince Amukamara working the defensive backfield.
But the Giants' secondary is now without its two key Huskers.
Amukamara tore his biceps in New York's loss to Indianapolis on Monday, and the Giants placed the cornerback on injured reserve Wednesday. Then on Thursday, Bowman was sent to the hospital with abdominal pain and missed practice.
The severity of Bowman's injury is still unknown, according to NJ.com, and with corner Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie still plagued by hamstring injuries, the Giants secondary is in a dire situation.
Amukamara played for the Huskers from 2007 to '10 and was a first-team All-American as a senior. He had three interceptions this season for New York to tie for the most on the team.
Bowman was at NU from 2005 to '07. As a senior, he posted one of the most memorable plays of the season with his fourth-quarter interception to help the Huskers get past Wake Forest.
