Heard ready to be a Husker

I-back Braylon Heard said he has gotten the ACT score he needed and will be heading to Lincoln in a few weeks to become a Husker.

Heard had initially signed with Nebraska last February. The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder from Youngstown, Ohio, spent the fall studying for the ACT and working out on his own.

“I’ve just got to fill out the paperwork and I’m good,” Heard said.

Heard ran for nearly 2,000 yards as Youngstown Cardinal Mooney went 15-0 and won an Ohio state championship in 2009.

Assuming all goes as planned and Heard is enrolled for the spring semester, he will be able to go through spring practice with the Huskers.

“It feels great,” he said. “I finally get to get back in school, get back on the field and get back to doing what I enjoy doing.”
