MINNEAPOLIS — Nebraska kicked off its season with a scoreless draw at Minnesota on Sunday.

Though Nebraska was outshot 12-6, Makinzie Short needed just two saves to record the shutout in her first career start. The sophomore shut down a one-on-one opportunity in the 19th minute and knocked a ball out of the air after a Minnesota corner kick late in the second overtime.

Dakota Chan led NU with two shots on goal.

The Huskers continue their road swing against Michigan State at noon Thursday.
