Michigan State blanks Nebraska women's soccer

Teddy Allen nearly broke the Nebraska single game scoring record.

LIVONIA, Mich. — Nebraska women's soccer outshot Michigan State 15-6 Thursday, but the Spartans came away with a 2-0 win.

The Huskers put early pressure on the Spartans, taking seven shots in the first 20 minutes. NU had a 10-2 advantage in shots in the first half, but Michigan State took a 1-0 to halftime as Miranda Hart scored with 1:56 left in the half.

MSU’s Abby Gardiner added an insurance goal in the 66th minute.

Nebraska remains on the road to face Ohio State at 11 a.m. Sunday.
