LINCOLN — The Nebraska women showed offensive balance and efficiency in their opener Friday night.

Trinity Brady led six Huskers in double figures with 15 points as NU pulled away in the second half for a 90-61 win over Oral Roberts at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Fellow starters Kate Cain, Isabelle Bourne and Sam Haiby each had 14 points, while Annika Stewart added 12 and Makenzie Helms 10. Five of the Huskers already were in double figures midway through the third quarter when NU led 57-37.

Nebraska took control late in the first half. The Huskers finished the half on a 10-3 run, featuring seven points by Bourne, to lead 45-35 at the break. NU then scored 12 of the first 14 points of the second half to build a 20-point advantage.

The Huskers filled up the stat sheet, too.

Cain had a double-double with 11 rebounds and six blocks, Bourne had nine rebounds, three assists and three blocks, and Stewart, a freshman from Minneapolis, grabbed seven rebounds and made two steals in her debut.

Haiby contributed eight rebounds and seven assists to go with her 14 points, while Whitney Brown, a freshman from Grand Island Northwest, had a team-best four steals.

As a team, Nebraska shot 50% from the field — 53% before halftime, 47% after halftime — and also had 20 assists on 33 field goals. Nebraska did commit 15 turnovers in the first half, but just six the rest of the way.

Camryn Hill led Oral Roberts with 19 points, all in the first half. Oral Roberts shot 28.9% from the field.

It was the first time since Nov. 10, 2019 — a span of 27 games — that Nebraska scored at least 90 in a game.

Nebraska stays at home to face Idaho State at 5 p.m. Sunday.
