COLUMBUS, Neb. — Defending champion Tucker Knaak of Plainview shared the first-round lead Thursday at the Nebraska Junior Amateur golf tournament.
Knaak shot 71 with six birdies at Elks Country Club, tying Omaha’s Josh Peters and Grand Island’s Cade McCallum at the top.
In the Nebraska Girls Amateur, 15-year-old Kaitlyn Hanna of Omaha shot 75 and is two strokes ahead of Wahoo’s Lauren Thiele and Chadron’s Ricki Hickstein, the defending champion, entering Friday’s final round. The boys have rounds Friday and Saturday.
