World lightweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford’s next bout finally has a home.
The unbeaten Omahan (25-0, 17 knockouts) verified, via Facebook on Sunday, reports that his junior welterweight fight against Thomas Dulorme will take place in Arlington, Texas, on April 18.
The University of Texas at Arlington’s College Park Center will be the site of the bout, which is expected to be for the vacant WBO 140-pound title. The arena has played host to pro fights twice previously.
Crawford-Dulorme will make up one half of a split-site doubleheader on HBO. The other bout, between former WBO champion Ruslan Provodnikov and Lucas Matthysse, will take place in Verona, New York.
The fight in Texas will be Crawford’s first since he was named fighter of the year by the Boxing Writers Association of America following a spectacular 2014 in which he won three world championship bouts.
Dulorme (22-1, 14 KOs) hasn’t been in world title fight. The Puerto Rican owns a 2011 win over former champ DeMarcus Corley and earned a split-decision victory over Hank Lundy in his last outing.
