TENNIS

Wimbledon, 6 a.m., ESPN

After dealing with sweltering temperatures the past two days, players will welcome a respite, though rain may be a factor. Among Thursday’s singles highlights, second-seeded Roger Federer faces American Sam Querrey, while 21st-seeded American Madison Keys takes on Elizaveta Kulichkova of Russia.

MLB

San Diego at St. Louis, 6:15 p.m., MLBN

Tyson Ross (5-7, 3.57 ERA) allowed just two runs on two hits in his last start for the Padres but also issued five walks for the second time in three games. Tim Cooney (0-0, 11.57) makes his second start for the Cardinals. Cooney’s other outing came April 30 against the Phillies when he lasted 22⁄3 innings while giving up three runs on seven hits.

COLLEGE BASEBALL

Home Run Derby, 7:30 p.m., ESPN

The home run was back in force at this year’s College World Series, with 15 total after back-to-back years of only three. Now college baseball’s top hitters will try to get the best of TD Ameritrade Park. Texas Tech’s Eric Gutierrez, last year’s runner-up, is the only returning participant.
