A quick moving storm system pushed into the region today, with parts of eastern Nebraska into western Iowa receiving some light snow.

The region also experienced cold conditions, which are expected to continue into the weekend before a warm-up begins Sunday.

The National Weather Service office in Valley said the Omaha area can look for a decent chance of snow and cold conditions today through Sunday, with high temperatures in the low to upper 20s to the mid-30s by Sunday. Overnight lows will vary from the 20s to around 3 degrees on Friday night.

Downtown Omaha began receiving some blowing snow early Thursday afternoon.

Highs on Monday and Tuesday will take off, reaching the low to upper 40s, the weather service said. Lows will be around 30.
