Blingle! Premier Lighting is called upon year-round for their state-of-the-art lighting services. And this year, the Nebraska favorite is a winner in the Omaha World-Herald Reader’s Choice Awards.
Whether they’re illuminating a home’s landscape for a special gathering, stringing together twinkling decorations for a holiday extravaganza or installing permanent lights, the team has dedicated themselves to each project with the utmost care so the lights can be enjoyed for years to come and bring warmth and security to each home.
“I like to go to everybody’s property and meet with them, so they know who they’re working with,” said Michael Romanek, a Blingle! account manager. “Then I’ll walk them through some of the things that we can do.”
What began as a traditional holiday lighting service (formerly called Heroes Holiday Lighting in honor of being veteran-owned) transformed into a lighting powerhouse called Blingle! after partnering with Omaha-founded Horsepower Brands in 2021. The company has since franchised to nearly 40 locations nationwide, with Omaha being home to one of their most memorable annual projects.
“We do all the holiday lighting at the Gene Leahy mall in downtown Omaha,” said Romanek. “We install a 70-foot artificial tree that has 60,000 lights in it, equivalent to what you would see at Rockefeller Center in New York. We wrap all of the perimeter trees around the park, about 150, and place large ornaments on the ground. There’s also an 18-foot snowflake that lights up that we install.”
To carry out visions large and small, Romanek visits clients with a catalog of photos from properties his team has serviced. Customers can use this photo collection to make more informed decisions about their lighting aspirations. Using specialized software, Romanek’s team can create visuals that closely mimic his clientele’s dream designs.
“I'll take photos of the property and put an actual mock-up together, so they can have a pretty good vision as to what it’s going to look like when it’s all said and done,” said Romanek.
While they could stop there, Blingle! goes above and beyond for customers by offering their traditional holiday lighting services, which include installation, maintenance, takedown and storage of all items.
For permanent lighting, which the company estimates could last up to 20 years, Blingle! offers a seven-year product warranty for replacements, as well as a 12-month craftsmanship guarantee for placement adjustments and any product glitches.
As the summer season begins and the company known for their holiday lighting sees more appointments for landscape illumination and permanent lighting structures, Romanek asks businesses and homeowners considering their services to start booking appointments.
“I would plan — at minimum — six months in advance, if not more,” he said, emphasizing the importance of early bookings for special events like weddings and holidays.
“Our landscape lighting often gets overshadowed by our holiday and permanent lighting because that’s what we’re most known for,” said Romanek, “but at the end of the day, we pride ourselves in our commitment to our customers, making sure their properties look nice while adding value.”
