For Monica Miller, the decision to launch ECO Supportive Living five years ago was personal.
When her mother got to the point that she could no longer live alone, Miller quit her job to become a full-time caregiver. Disappointed by the assisted-living facilities she toured, Miller saw an untapped opportunity to provide compassionate home care for others in her community. In 2021, she founded ECO Supportive Living, initially running the business out of her home office with one employee and one client.
“Shortly after, a close friend rented us a small office,” she said. “Eventually, we grew and took over more space in the building. In 2025, we moved to the location we’re in now, which is a big upgrade from where we started.”
At first, Miller relied on social media and word of mouth for promotion, later adding billboards and radio and television ads to her marketing efforts.
“ECO Supportive Living has grown from a locally focused home care provider into a trusted agency of more than 200 caregivers serving seniors, adults with disabilities and veterans across the Omaha area,” she said. “The company has expanded its services, built a strong team and developed systems to support Medicaid waiver and private-pay clients. Through that growth, ECO has remained committed to its core philosophy: treating every client like family while helping people maintain independence and dignity in their own homes.”
The comprehensive range of nonmedical home care services ECO Supportive Living provides includes companionship, personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping, medication reminders and appointment support. Specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or mobility challenges is also available. The company accepts a variety of payment options to make care more accessible for every family.
Working together, ECO caregivers, office staff and leadership have proudly managed to build a strong culture of trust. The company recently added two more client care managers (bringing the total up to six) and has made the strategic decision to hire a new CEO to oversee the next growth phase and a rebranding effort that will strengthen the company’s local presence.
“In this industry, the quality of care comes directly from the people providing it,” Miller said. “We’re fortunate to have a team that truly embodies our mission of treating clients like family.”
ECO’s fifth anniversary represents a significant milestone, and it’s one that Miller doesn’t take for granted.
“We’ll celebrate with our caregivers, our team, our clients and their families, and our community partners by hosting a company picnic on May 30 at Benson Park Pavilion,” she said. “ECO’s growth has truly been a team effort, and this celebration belongs to everyone who has helped build the organization.”
In the next five years, Miller would like to see ECO continue to grow as a trusted leader in home care.
“We want to expand our services, strengthen our leadership structure and create even more opportunities for our team while continuing to deliver compassionate care to the families we serve,” she said.
