OrthoNebraska, a leading provider of orthopedic care, has a comprehensive, value-driven care model that continues to create increased demand for their services. And they’re moving full speed ahead to meet that need, building a brand new facility in Northwest Omaha and expanding their state-of-the-art facility in Elkhorn.
That demand is generated from world-class outcomes and a highly personalized patient experience. In fact, they recently received the 2024 Excellence in Patient Experience Award from NRC Health.
“We really have something unique here, and by adding more locations, we’re bringing the type of orthopedic care to more pockets in our community where it is needed,” said Levi Scheppers, chief executive officer.
A new clinic for Northwest Omaha
People want and need healthcare options that are near their home and work. OrthoNebraska’s new center will not only be the first in Northwest Omaha, but its location is very convenient for residents of the area.
The facility will include 20 exam rooms, two X-ray rooms and thousands of square feet of physical therapy and athletic performance space. In addition to regularly scheduled physician and therapy visits, the site will also be available for walk-in orthopedic care.
“Healthcare is complex, but OrthoNebraska works to make seeking care easy by being in the locations you need us, with the services you need, when you need them most. We simply want to help you get back to what you want to do as fast as possible, with the best experience and outcomes in the region — whether that’s coaching your kid’s sports team, playing with your grandkids, running errands pain free or getting back to working out. We make it convenient and simple to access OrthoNebraska and start the recovery journey,” Scheppers said.
Expanding the Elkhorn facility
OrthoNebraska opened its Elkhorn location in 2020 and currently provides a range of orthopedic services, unmatched care and the exceptional practitioners OrthoNebraska is known for.
Now, because of the growing demand for their services, they’re adding four fully equipped operating rooms, four treatment suites for minor procedures, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to the Elkhorn site. The expansion will be completed in late 2025, in time to accommodate the increased demand for orthopedic procedures that usually occurs in the last quarter of the year.
The importance of comprehensive orthopedic care
“One big differentiator for OrthoNebraska is its comprehensive nature,” said Nicholas Bruggeman, orthopedic surgeon and chief medical officer. “We can care for the entire continuum of the orthopedic patient — from the urgent care to imaging to surgery to physical therapy and more — all in one place. For physicians like myself, I can trust that the patient is in good hands with seamless transitions of care and a personalized experience that is uniquely OrthoNebraska.”
At OrthoNebraska, with practitioners and services all within one specialized organization, patients can typically complete treatment and resume their normal activities much sooner. OrthoNebraska helps get patients the answers to their problems more quickly because the staff can help patients move between the clinic, imaging, surgery and physical therapy much more quickly than others.
Another big advantage is that each patient’s doctors and care practitioners communicate with each other, making sure that the treatment options best suit each patient’s specific needs.
“The comprehensive nature and integration of all these services lead to successful outcomes that quickly get our patients back to the things they love,” said Bruggeman.
