BonnaVilla, a division of Chief Industries, Inc., has entered into a strategic partnership with Griffith Homes of Iowa to introduce modular home construction to the Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska areas. The initial projects, both model homes, are underway in Weeping Water, Nebraska, and Missouri Valley, Iowa. These homes are designed to showcase the quality, flexibility and affordability that modular construction offers prospective homeowners.
Longstanding legacy in modular construction
Since 1970, BonnaVilla has manufactured modular homes from its facility in Aurora, Nebraska, operating under the Chief Industries umbrella — a third-generation, family-owned business headquartered in Grand Island, Nebraska.
Griffith Homes, a full-service general contractor based in Iowa, has been a leader in modular home construction in Iowa for over 40 years. Together, this partnership represents a blend of shared values and expertise, aimed at meeting the growing demand for affordable, high-quality housing in the Omaha and Lincoln areas and beyond.
A partnership geared for growth
As BonnaVilla sought a regional partner capable of delivering turnkey projects, Griffith Homes was looking to expand into nearby markets. This collaboration allows both companies to leverage their strengths and fulfill a market need, addressing the rising costs and limited inventory that have challenged the Omaha and Lincoln housing sectors.
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Griffith Homes in this effort to serve the Omaha and Lincoln communities,” said Mike Morrow, general manager of BonnaVilla. “Their expertise and shared commitment to quality construction make them an ideal partner as we aim to provide accessible, reliable housing solutions through modular building methods.”
Innovative housing solutions
The first model homes will feature three bedrooms, two bathrooms, full basements and two-car garages, offering approximately 1,650 square feet of living space. By building these model homes, BonnaVilla and Griffith Homes aim to illustrate the advantages of modular construction, which include shorter build times and enhanced cost efficiencies — key factors for homebuyers looking for alternatives to traditional construction in today’s market.
“Expanding into the Omaha and Lincoln markets has been a goal for Griffith Homes for some time,” said Shawn Corkrean, owner of Griffith Homes of Iowa. “Partnering with BonnaVilla allows us to bring well-built, affordable modular homes to this area. We’re excited to show homebuyers what’s possible with modular construction — it’s a game-changer for people looking to build a new home quickly and efficiently.”
With high interest in innovative construction methods and a growing demand for inventory, BonnaVilla and Griffith Homes of Iowa are committed to bringing bold and brilliant living to prefabricated homes.
