Methodist Health System announces new members of leadership team Sarah Bowes Becky Jizba Crystal Smith Sarah Bowes, Becky Jizba and Crystal Smith have been named to vice president roles at Methodist Health System. Sarah Bowes, EdD, MBA, MLS(ASCP)CM, a leader with extensive experience overseeing ancillary healthcare services, has been named vice president of Integrated Services and Regulatory for the health system. In her new position, Bowes oversees Patient Transportation, Environmental Services, Food Services, Plant Engineering and Operations, Maintenance, Grounds, Mail/Courier Services, Safety, Security, Emergency Preparedness, Sustainability, Construction collaboration, Call Center, PBX/Dial MD, and Regulatory. Bowes previously led the Pathology Department at Methodist Hospital as service executive. Before joining Methodist, she served in several leadership roles at Boys Town National Research Hospital from 2018 to 2024. Among them: senior director for ancillaries and support, and director of laboratory services. She also was laboratory supervisor for the Saint Paul VI Institute for over five years. Bowes earned her doctorate in healthcare education and leadership as well as her Master of Business Administration in healthcare leadership and quality from Nebraska Methodist College. She received her Bachelor of Science in clinical laboratory science from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). Becky Jizba, MSN, MBA, RN, NE-BC, an accomplished healthcare executive with experience leading multidisciplinary teams, has been named vice president of ancillary and professional services for Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women's Hospital. In her new role, Jizba oversees the oncology service line; imaging, laboratory and pharmacy services; quality, risk and regulatory programs; and professional services contracting. Jizba was previously a service executive for patient care at the hospitals. Her other leadership experience includes serving as service leader for Methodist Hospital's Acute Care for Elders (ACE) Unit and nurse coordinator for the hospital's Oncology Unit. She began her career at Methodist Hospital as a staff nurse on the Oncology Unit. She also served as a naval nurse officer for the U.S. Navy Reserve for four years. Jizba received her Master of Science in nursing and Master of Business Administration from Nebraska Wesleyan University. She received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Creighton University. Crystal Smith, DNP, RN, NE-BC, has been selected to serve as vice president of Patient Care Services and chief nursing officer for Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women's Hospital. Smith, who has been Methodist Hospital's service executive for clinical excellence since 2024, will begin transitioning into her new roles this month. Prior to joining the Methodist family, Smith was director of medical surgical services for Children's Nebraska. She previously had the same role at CHI Health-Creighton University Medical Center. Smith earned her doctorate in nursing practice from Creighton University, her Master of Science in education from Nebraska Methodist College and her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Creighton University.
