Food Bank for the Heartland Announces the Appointment of Three New Members to its Board of Directors Caleb Shannon Randy Mousel Steve Schulz Food Bank for the Heartland is excited to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors: Caleb Shannon (Walmart), Randy Mousel (retired from Mutual of Omaha), and Steve Schulz (University of Nebraska Omaha). These individuals were thoughtfully selected for their expertise, community leadership, and passion for creating food-secure communities. As the Food Bank navigates a new fiscal year with federal funding uncertainties and fewer resources amid a historic high need, their combined perspective will be invaluable to advancing the organization's mission. "We are eager to utilize their combined skillsets to serve Heartland neighbors more adequately and strategically to increase efficiencies across our organization, especially now that we're operating out of a new and enhanced facility," said Brian Barks, President and CEO of Food Bank for the Heartland. Twenty-seven dedicated leaders serve on the Food Bank's board, bringing innovative ideas and a shared commitment to ending hunger-helping ensure 1 in 7 individuals and 1 in 5 children facing hunger in Nebraska and western Iowa receive consistent access to healthy food.
